How to make teardrop earrings?
Polymer clay: dark blue, violet, red, orange, yellow, light green
One pair of ear studs with caps
2 Eye pins, 1.5 cm / 0.6 inch
2 Eye pins 1 cm / 0.4 inch
Cutter 2 cm / 0.8 inches diameter
You do not need much clay for making these earrings. I used 2x 1cm2 / 0.16 inch2 of clay for the teardrops and a little bit for the hearts. The colors I used are the colors of flames.
Prepare the clay. Put aside a little piece of red clay for the heart beads. Stack the clay in order of the colors of flames: blue, violet, red, orange, yellow and green. Press the stack a little bit and cut, with your blade, 2 pieces of 1cm2 / 0,16 inch2.
Roll each stack in your hands to make the edges round. Do not make the bead longer. The blue part should be round and smooth.
Place a bead at the edge of the table, the green part of the bead near you. Place the plexiglas in a angle on the clay and over the edge of the table. Move the plexiglas from left to right and back serveral times.
Cut 2 circles from the red clay and make 2 balls. Place a ball on the table and roll it a bit longer. Cut it diagonal through. Turn one part and place the two pieces against each other. Smooth the surface. Decorate the front so you can’t see the seam anymore. The back must stay flat.
Press the eye pin into the green part of the teardrop. If the teardrop becomes a bit out of shape, use the plexiglas again gently.
Cure the beads in the oven according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Let everything cool and sand the teardrops if necessary. Remove the eye pins, dip them in the glue and press them back into the beads. Put the teardrop and heart together and glue the ear studs on the back of the hearts.
Simple earrings, here in the primary colors, but you can also make the earrings in other lovely colors. Or make a skinner blend instead of stacking colors. Good luck with this tutorial and I hope you enjoy it.
